It is the Purpose of HAPN to provide a forum through which licensed Registered Nurses (RN s) in the State of Hawaii may contribute knowledge and opinion to establish a consensus which will promote and expand the practice of Nursing.

HAPN's  Mission is to be the chosen voice of the nursing profession in establishing policy, regulation and legislation which affects the development and practice of professional nursing in Hawaii.  HAPN will be the choice of Hawaii's nurses for educational opportunities.

The stated Vision of HAPN is to maintain and improve the community's access to state of the art and science of health care through collegial inter-disciplinary endeavor.

HAPN is a professional nursing association welcoming ALL Registered Nurses and nursing students in RN programs.  We offer leadership and support on ALL professional nursing issues.  Our membership is open to RN s of any educational or practice level, regardless of their affiliation with any other nursing organization.  We welcome nurses of all specialty practice areas.  We are a non-profit, limited liability corporation and we are a 501 (c) 6, tax-exempt non-profit organization.  We are a group member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and may, in the future, apply for membership in other national nursing organizations which support other aspects of professional nursing.
